The melanocytes are very active in people with dark skin and are able to produce large amount of melanin, which makes the skin darker.
But do not worry! Have a strong production of melanin in your skin is an advantage. More melanin means better natural protection against sunlight, skin less vulnerable to the risks of skin cancer, and signs of aging diminished (few wrinkles and pigmentation spots).
